New Year Resolution

Chancing upon my new year resolutions while doing housekeeping on my computer, I was curious what I’ve wrote earlier this year:

  • FinanceNew Year Resolution
  • Career
  • Health
  • Spiritual
  • Family
  • Knowledge and Skills

This sounds bad; but I’ve completely forgotten about this list. I was supposed to write them out, print out the list and work out a plan.

On closer look however, it’s seems that I’m still on track. Basic priorities remain the same. “How much more would things have progressed if I had routinely charted and engined my progress”.

For the past two days, the slow progress of things and the mundane work of routine tasks seemed to have let a growing irk seep in. What’s happening? I’ve new projects and still many things to do; but I seem to be missing the hustle and bustle of a crowded office, of deadlines.

Somehow, a piece seem to be missing. Could this be what’s said in Romans? Or, what’s happening in book of Joshua (not that I have completed reading through that). Or, could this slow pace……  be…… a missing piece of patience?

James 1:3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

v2-v8: My brethren, count if all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Hmm….. patience, faith, double-minded……

It’s so ironic, I should be happy that I am on track and not always trying to catch up with deadlines! Ha, let’s get back to work!
